Ancient Chinese Medicine (ACM)
Ancient Chinese Medicine has been developing for thousands of years developing and effectively healing a range of symptoms. Acupuncture, Qigong, certain kinds of massage and Herbal Medicine are part of ACM. Within the Chinese classics, the idea that Thought leads Energy is reiterated. Thought is energy. Thought makes form at some level. When meditation stills the mind, the practitioner is then able to lead energy to promote healing. The Qi, coming from the universe, is invited and will go where it is needed. Its function is to heal and/or act as a sealant to prevent negative energy from recontaminating the area. The recipient makes the request, the practitioner invites Qi to the area in need of healing. The recipient accepts the energy.
Very Brief Introduction: Within the ACM system, there are 12 major meridians ascending and descending the body, starting internally moving to the extremities. These energy channels are unseen but known. There are energy points along the meridians; some schools say 365, others indicate more.
There are also eight Extraordinary Vessels (EV) that cross the meridians, incorporating specific points that amplify healing. The EV's are simutaneously stimulated by pairs of tuning forks at the point of origin and the point of balance.
Qi, a concept most have heard of, has different characteristics and functions, is generally thought of as 'life force'. The unblocking of Qi relieves pain and promotes harmony within the body, mind and spirit.
ACM also incorporates the theory of Five Elements; fire, water, air, metal and wood. The five elements have different characteristics, interact with each other in a specific manner which accounts for all phenomena in nature and the universe.
Rather than do injustice to this rich field of study and practice, I encourage you to experience this mode of healing.
