Energy Psychology

Energy Psychology combines the use of Eastern energetic systems, generally ACM, and Western psychotherapy in the healing of emotional and psychological issues. Many people find relief in tapping certain pressure points to relieve the effects of trauma and other emotional distress. One of the early systems was Thought Field Therapy, developed by Dr. Callahan. This was taken further by a business coach and developed into Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). For some people, these are effective self-help tools. After looking at those materials, I explored and engaged in training. Several modifications are posted on the internet; I modified Faster EFT even further. You may download for free the variation I developed: Turbo Tap.

Please be advised you are doing so without professional consultation and is not to be used in lieu of professional therapy. I hold no liability.

I am not fond of thumping points on my face or collar bone, etc. I have not found it efffective for myself. However, as an intermittent patient of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs, I was drawn to the idea of using acupuncture points to alleviate distress and promote healing. But, I did not want to go to Acupuncture school.

When tuning forks were introduced to me at a sound healing workshop, I was impressed with the duration of benefit. Shortly thereafter, I engaged in the training program of Acutonics TM. In my clinical work, I have found tuning forks to be very effective for immediate and long term results. This is taking Energy Psychology to the next level.

I have successfully used tuning forks to alleviate anxiety, depression and physical symptoms. Some clients have been able to reduce the amount of medication they take. One example: as a result of an intervention designed to reduce anxiety and debilitating acute pain while increasing energy flow, and with the clients cooperation of self application of tuning forks on the hara, stomach area, a client was able to significantly reduce pain, increase self care, eliminate negative response to medication and resume normal day-to-day activity.

I have also explored other healing systems using tuning forks: John Beaulieu, PhD, a pioneer in the field, developed a system called BioSonic Repatterning. It is based on Polarity and researched use of music intervals and tuning systems. Randy Masters has been influential in my exploration and use of Pythagorean tuning forks and their reciprocals. Although Acutonics is the foundation of the work I do, over the years I have integrated aspects of the aforementioned approaches. The beauty of Sound Healing is that it demands the rigor of training and research while eliciting guidance from the Muse of Intuition. As above, so below.
